They did not fade with washing and are very soft. We have a thick mattress with a pillow top and it was easy to stretch the fitted sheet over the mattress.Sometimes when you buy new sheets they come out of the package smelling like a chemical process. These sheets smelled natural and clean right out of the re-usable bag. **** 2011 Update**** I have used these sheets daily for 2 years now. I was extremely impressed right out of the box - beautiful color, attractive packaging, and quite soft. Plus, none of the chemically "stink" so often found on new bedding.I immediately went and put a second set in my cart as a gift for my mother. Then, I washed and dried the sheets. The package directions say not to tumble dry, but there were multiple posts on Amazon saying that they could be dried. After a single cycle on low heat, they came out heavily wrinkled. Worse yet, they seem less soft than before they were washed and seem to have shrunk a LOT. Our matress is only 14 inches deep, but it was a fight to get the fitted sheet on and the top sheet cannot be tucked on either side. Lovely product but not very practical, and a waste of money now that they won't even fit our bed comfortably. |
